Word Order in English
Most sentences in English follow the same word order:
Subject1 + Verb2 + Object3 + Place4 + Time5
Example:
John1 met2 Nicole3 in the park4 yesterday5.
In order to have a sentence, we usually need to have a subject and a verb. Some sentences might have an object, an adverb of place, or/and an adverb of time as well.
Examples:
She1 is sleeping2.
He1 loves2 her3.
I1 saw2 her3 last night5.
The students1 play2 basketball3 in the gym4 every day5.
